Red Light District Tours of Galveston
An Extraordinary Tour for an Extraordinary City
In March 2019, Kimber launched The Red Light District Tours of Galveston, a 1.5-hour walking tour based on her books Galveston’s Red Light District: A History of The Line and The Maceos and The Free State of Galveston. Tours are held year-round every Wednesday-Saturday at 7pm (5pm October-April).
“Kimber is informative, entertaining and fun. She engages the audience to keep a good pace and after each stop on the tour she leaves you wanting to know more and continues informative discussions throughout the entire tour. Put on your walking shoes and go learn about The Line!” -Becky
“It’s one treat to read the book and another to have the author lead us through the district, a fountain of information flowing easily from that information-packed brain of hers. Amazing tour, amazing writer, astounding speaker, and an incredibly fascinating Galveston history to discover.” -Catherine
“Great tour! Loved how the tour gives a mixture of “this is where it happened” and “here is why it happened”. Most historical tours focus on only the locations and neglect the humanity. This one gave a great balance to both!” -DJ
“Kimber is amazing and knows her stuff.” – Bret
“She has researched well and provided much relevance to the social and political happenings of the time. This was a fun and fascinating tour!” -Lucy
